Crash snarls southbound traffic on I-465 in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - An accident snarled traffic on the east side of Indianapolis during Tuesday evening's rush hour.

According to an alert posted by WIBC Traffic at 5:00 p.m., the crash took place on Interstate 465 southbound between Washington Street/U.S. 40 and Brookville Road.

The center lane of the interstate was blocked while crews responded to the wreck, and backups were reported stretching back to East 56th Street and Pendleton Pike.
