Crash on NE side of Indianapolis leaves 2 children seriously injured

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - An accident at an intersection in Indianapolis sent two children to the hospital on Saturday afternoon, WXIN reported.

The crash took place at North Shadeland Avenue and East 43rd Street on the city's northeast side. Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived at about 3:30 p.m. with assistance from Lawrence police.

They found that two children had been seriously injured. They were taken by ambulance to an area hospital.

No details were released on the circumstances that led to the wreck.
