LAPORTE COUNTY, IN - The La Porte County Sheriff's Office issued a traffic alert to motorists following a truck accident on Monday afternoon.
In an advisory posted at 2:55 p.m., the sheriff's office said at least two semi-trucks were involved in the crash on US 30 and County Road 1350 South. Both eastbound lanes of US 30 were shut down and traffic was being diverted onto US 421.
The closure was expected to last several hours for the crash investigation, cleanup and recovery of the CMVs involved. There was no immediate word regarding injuries.
An update was issued at about 9:00 p.m. that US 30 had been reopened.
