Cassapolis woman hurt in crash when driver fails to stop at stop sign

CASS COUNTY, MI - A woman was injured when her car was struck by another vehicle in Cass County on Saturday, authorities said.

WBND reports the collision occurred in the vicinity of Mason Street and Cassapolis Road.   The Cass County Sheriff's Office said 47-year-old Jaime Anway of Wayne, Michigan failed to completely stop at a stop sign while heading east on Mason Street.

Anway's vehicle then crashed into another vehicle driven by 77-year-old Martha Lee of Cassopolis, Michigan, with the impact forcing her car off the roadway.  Lee was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate the crash, and said it does not appear that alcohol was a contributing factor.
