INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A collision on the near south side of Indianapolis claimed the life of a bicycle rider, reports WTHR.
Police said a man riding a bicycle was hit by a car Thursday morning in the area of East Raymond Street and Shelby Street at about 7:15 a.m. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, then was taken to the hospital for a blood draw, standard policy during a fatal crash investigation.
The accident shut down the exit from southbound I-65 to Raymond Street, as well as eastbound traffic on Raymond Street from I-65 to Ringgold Avenue.
