Accident on I-465 north slows traffic on NE side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A crash was causing traffic backups on the northeast side of Indianapolis during Wednesday morning's rush hour.

According to an advisory from WIBC Traffic shortly before 8 a.m., the accident occurred on northbound Interstate 465 near 71st Street. The left lane of the mainline of the interstate was blocked while emergency crews responded to the scene. The express lane was not affected.

Traffic delays of at least 41 minutes were reported, going back to Interstate 70.
