Accident knocks down power lines on SW side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department issued a traffic alert Monday morning following an accident on the city's southwest side.

In an advisory at 7:26 a.m., police said the crash occurred at the intersection of Kentucky Avenue and Camby Road, and brought down power lines in the area.

Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes due to the police presence and cleanup work. It was anticipated that the intersection would be closed for several hours.

Please seek an alternate route if you normally travel the area of Kentucky Ave & Camby Rd on the city's Southwest side.
