GRAND RAPIDS, MI - One person was killed and another injured when their vehicle was involved in a crash in Grand Rapids early Friday morning.
A report by WZZM states that the accident happened on Breton Street SE near 28th Street, where an SUV collided with a tree at about 12:40 a.m. Two people were extricated from the vehicle.
The driver, identified as 18-year-old Brooklyn Botello, died at the scene. A male passenger suffered injuries described as potentially life-threatening and was transported to an area hospital.
The Grand Rapids Police Department believes speed was a contributing factor in the wreck.
