GOSHEN, IN - Two drivers were taken to the hospital after their vehicles collided in Elkhart County on Monday afternoon, according to WBND.
The accident took place at the intersection of County Road 40 and County Road 17 shortly before 1:30 p.m. The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office determined that the driver of a 2003 Ford Ranger was headed west on C.R. 40 and failed to yield the right-of-way at the intersection. The driver of a 2018 Nissan Altima was going south on C.R. 17 when her vehicle struck the passenger side of the Ford.
The Ford driver, 62-year-old Anthony Collier of Goshen, was flown to South Bend Memorial Hospital with a life-threatening injury. The Nissan driver, 26-year-old Cassondra Stover of Goshen, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and was taken to Goshen General Hospital.
The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate the wreck, and said no citations were issued at the scene.
