BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM - The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office issued a traffic alert Friday morning following a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 40.
BCSO deputies were dispatched to the scene sometime before 10:19 a.m. on westbound I-40 near Sedillo Hill. Four vehicles were reported to have been involved in the crash during icy road conditions on the interstate.
Traffoc was restricted to one lane in the area while emergency crews were responding. Drivers on I-40 were advised to be cautious on both westbound and eastbound routes to and from the mountains.
The sheriff's office reminded motorists that the East mountains were experiencing extremly icy conditions as a storm moved through the region.
