4 injured, including 3 children, in Deerfield Township rollover crash

DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI - Four people were injured, including three children, in a rollover crash in Deerfield Township on Friday.

Big Rapids Pioneer reported details of the accident, which occurred in the area of 5 Mile Road and 155th Avenue shortly before 5:41 p.m.

According to the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office, a 25-year-old Fremont woman was driving when she tried to pass another vehicle .The woman lost control of her car, which then struck an embankment and overturned.

One passenger, a 28-year-old woman, was flown to a hospital in Grand Rapids but there was no immediate word on her condition.  Three children in the car, all under age 5, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and were taken to Corewell Health Big Rapids Hospital.

The sheriff's office was assisted by Michigan State Police and local first responders.
