CASS COUNTY, MI - The Cass County Sheriff's Office said a multi-vehicle accident on Monday afternoon sent one of the drivers to the hospital.
A report by WKZO states that the crash happened in the area of Mason Street and Union Road shortly before 4 p.m. An investigation determined that a man headed west on Mason Street failed to stop at the sign at Union Road and collided with a southbound vehicle. That vehicle struck a third vehicle that was stopped on the side of Mason Street.
The first driver, a man from Elkhart, Indiana, was transported to Elkhart General Hospital with undisclosed injuries. The other drivers, 60-year-old Paul Zinich of Elkhart and 52-year-old Bill Scarberry of Jones, were treated at the scene and released.
Investigators have yet to determine whether alcohol was a contributing factor in the incident.
