SHELBYVILLE, IN - A collision in Shelby County involving a car and a dump truck sent both drivers to the hospital, WTHR reported.
The accident occurred Tuesday morning near the intersection of State Road 244 and County Road 600 East, just west of an area schoolhouse. According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Department, the dump truck was headed east on State Road 244 at about 8:15 a.m.
The truck dropped off the edge of the road and the driver over-corrected. When the truck re-entered the roadway, it collided head-on with a westbound car.
The driver of the car was seriously injured and was flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. The truck driver was transported by ambulance to the same hospital, but that person's condition was not released. No one else was in either vehicle.
