2 drivers injured in rear-end collision in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, IN - Two drivers were hurt when their vehicles collided in Elkhart County on Monday morning, WBND reported.

The rear-end collision occurred at the intersection of Old U.S. Highway 33 and C.R. 1.  According to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office, the driver of a Nissan Versa heading east on Old U.S. HIghway 33 stopped to make a left turn onto C.R. 1 at about 9:20 a.m.

The driver of another eastbound vehicle, a Chevy Equinox, became distracted and crashed into the back of the Nissan, authorities said.  It was noted in the report that the roadway was wet at the time of the accident.

The Chevy driver, 72-year-old Kathleen Fozo of Mishawaka, was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for neck pain.  The Nissan driver, a 27-year-old woman from Mishawaka, also suffered neck pain.
