RIO RANCHO, NM - A collision in Rio Rancho on Thursday left two people dead and three others injured, according to a KRQE report.
The wreck occurred on U.S. HIghway 550 in the area of Northwest Loop Road. Investigators determined that the driver of an eastbound Dodge Challenger crashed into a Cadillac whose driver was trying to turn left from Northwest Loop Road.
Two people in the Cadillac were killed. Three other people involved in the accident were taken to area hospitals and were reported to be in stable condition.
Highway 550 was shut down in both directions while the scene was being cleared and investigated.
