2 dead, 1 injured in head-on collision in Kosciusko County

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, IN - A head-on crash in Kosciusko County on Thanksgiving night left both drivers dead, according to WNDU.

County sheriff's deputies said a Hyundai Sonata and a Chevrolet Equinox collided head-on in Washington Township shortly before 9 p.m.  The accident took place on Old Road 30 East near Brallier Road.

The drivers of the two vehicles died at the scene.  The Hyundai driver was identified as 24-year-old Manuel Tlahuetl, while the Chevrolet driver was 54-year-old Heather Rice of Columbia City.  

A 34-year-old man from Ligonier who was a passenger in the Chevrolet was in critical condition after being taken to an area hospital.   The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the cause of the wreck.
