2 crashes in construction zone cause traffic backups on I-465

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Two separate accidents were slowing traffic on the south side of Indianapolis on Wednesday morning, according to WIBC Traffic.

Both occurred in a construction zone on westbound Interstate 465. The first incident, reported at 6:09 a.m., took place on I-465 after Mann Road. Two left lanes of the interstate were blocked, stopping traffic to the Interstate 69 interchange and causing delays of over an hour.

The second crash happened in the area of Harding Street shortly after 7 a.m. and shut down the left lane. Traffic was delayed past Bluff Road, approaching U.S. 31/East Street.
