ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI - Authorities said a collision in St. Joseph County Saturday morning claimed the life of a teenage driver.
According to MLive.com, the incident occurred near the intersection of Bogen Road and South Nottawa Street in Sturgis Township. The Sturgis Department of Public Safety said an 18-year-old man was driving east on Bogen Road shortly before 9:41 a.m. and pulled into the path of a pickup truck going south. The vehicles collided and the pickup overturned.
The first driver, a Sturgis resident, died in the collision. Four people in the pickup were hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening. All four are from Indiana.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the crash.
