RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, MI - Michigan State Police investigated a fatal car wreck that occurred in Richland Township on Sunday moring, WNDU reports.
The investigation indicated that the driver of a Ford Fusion was headed east on M-89 near E B Avenue at about 8:40 a.m. when she lost control of the vehicle. The Ford crossed over the center line and crashed into a Dodge Durango head-on.
The Ford driver, a 20-year-old Allegan woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dodge driver, a 41-year-old man from Plainwell, was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.
State police say speed was a contributing factor but drugs and alcohol did not appear to have played any roles in the accident.
