LAS CRUCES, NM - A fatal accident shut down the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Las Cruces on Friday, reports KFOX14.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation said the multi-vehicle wreck took place in a construction zone on I-10 at the NM28 ramp Avenida de Mesilla shortly before 5 p.m. Two of the vehicles apparently were semi-trailer trucks.
New Mexico State Police said one person was killed in the incident, but no information was released on the victim's identity or which vehicle they were in.
All lanes of I-10 were reopened by 9 p.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
