Motorcycle rider dies following accident in Leighton Township

LEIGHTON TOWNSHIP, MI - The Allegan County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal motorcycle accident in Leighton Township last week.

The incident happened on 12th Street near Division Avenue near Wayland at about 9:18 p.m., according to a WOOD report. A motorcycle crashed at that location, and the rider was found non-responsive when sheriff's deputies arrived.

The motorcyclist, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff's office said its investigation has indicated that neither speed or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
